A simple, private way to convert HEIC photos
What this site is, and how it works
HEICtoJPG is a free online tool that converts the HEIC and HEIF photos taken on iPhones and iPads into JPG (or PNG) images that open on any device. It exists for one reason: converting a personal photo shouldn't mean handing it to a server you don't control.
How the conversion works
When you add photos, the conversion happens using a decoder that runs inside your web browser, on your own device. Your images are read from your phone or computer, rebuilt as JPG or PNG in your browser's memory, and offered straight back to you as downloads. At no point are they transmitted to us or to any other server. If you turned off your internet connection after the page finished loading, the converter would still work.
The image decoding is powered by an open-source library (heic2any, built on libheif), which we self-host rather than loading from a third party. No analytics scripts, trackers or advertising code run on this page by default.

What it isn't
This is an independent utility. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Apple Inc. Names such as HEIC, iPhone, iPad and iOS are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what the tool does. The tool converts the still image inside a HEIC file; it does not edit photos, recover deleted files, or extract the motion part of a Live Photo.
