Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HEICtoJPG (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use heic-convert.net (the “Service”). The short version: the Service is built so that your photos never reach us.

Your photos stay on your device. All HEIC/HEIF conversion happens locally in your browser. The images you select are never uploaded, transmitted, stored or seen by us or any third party.

1. Information we do not collect

  • Your images. Files you convert are processed in your browser's memory and are never sent to a server. We have no copy of them.
  • Accounts. The Service has no login, so we do not hold names, emails or passwords.
  • Tracking. By default we run no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

2. Information handled automatically

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may process basic technical data needed to serve the page — such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request — in server logs. This is used only to deliver the site securely and to diagnose faults, and is not combined with any image you convert. Your hosting/CDN provider processes this as described in their own policy.

3. Local storage on your device

The Service uses your browser's local storage to remember two small preferences: your chosen theme (light or dark) and your preferred JPG quality. This information stays on your device, is not a tracking cookie, and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. See our Cookies Notice for details.

4. If this ever changes

Should we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy and the Cookies Notice before doing so, and — where required for visitors in regions such as the EU and UK — present a consent choice. This page always describes what the Service actually does at the date shown above.

5. Children

The Service is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because we do not maintain accounts or store your images, we typically hold no personal data to act on, but you are welcome to contact us with any request at [email protected].
